Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will lead a high-level committee to identify and implement priority reforms for improving Goa’s ranking in national and international Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) and Ease of Living (EoL).

The state government has constituted a 37-member committee under the Chief Minister to bring in reforms in EoDB and EoL.

The committee will focus on streamlining regulatory processes, reducing compliance burden, and promoting investor-friendly practices.

“The Committee will also review citizen-centric services with the objective of ensuring time-bound, transparent, and hassle-free delivery under the EoL framework,” reads the notification issued by the Industries department.

It will monitor progress of reforms measures, resolve interdepartmental issues, and ensure accountability of departments apart from focusing on steps to improve EoDB and EoL initiatives.

The Minister for industries, Revenue, Town and Country Planning and Factories and Boilers are other members of the committee, which also includes Chief Secretary, secretaries and heads of various departments.

The representatives of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Goa State Industries Association (GSIA), Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI), Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), Laghu Udyog Bharati, Business Network International, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Goa Technology Association (GTA) are special invitees on the committee.
