The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) held a strategic meeting with senior party leaders in New Delhi to discuss the political situation in the State and chalk out preparations for the upcoming Ponda by-election and the 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly polls.
The meeting was attended by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, AICC Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare, party leaders S Kanth and Vamsi Chand Reddy, along with Goa Congress President Amit Patkar and senior leader Anjali Nimbalkar.
Speaking after the meeting, Patkar said the leaders held extensive discussions on the current political situation in Goa and the challenges faced by people due to what the party termed as failures of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the State.
He said the party also deliberated on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level and finalising a strategy for the Ponda bypoll as well as the roadmap for the 2027 Assembly elections.
Patkar added that the Congress leadership reaffirmed its commitment to stand with the people of Goa and work towards protecting the State’s land, identity and future while presenting a people-centric and accountable alternative government.
