GEC introduces 3-year part time Masters in Engg

Engineering graduates engaged in industry can now hope to pursue a Masters’ degree while still on the job.

The Goa engineering college has tweaked the rules to enable them to earn their Masters in Engineering degree without quitting their jobs.

The three year programme -- Master of Engineering (Industrial Engineering) -- has got the nod of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is certified by Goa University.

The specially designed programme which enables engineers engaged in industry in Goa to keep their jobs and pursue academics beyond their work hours will have lectures conducted on campus at GEC Farmagudi in the evenings but requires aspirants to have at least two years of work experience and an engineering degree in any branch.

The ME degree which can be earned in three years also qualifies the holder to register for doctoral research and earn a PhD from centrally funded Institutions like IIDC, IIT, NIT, besides Central and State varsities.
