In line with the Prime Minister’s recent appeal on austerity measures, the Goa government on Thursday imposed an immediate ban on all official foreign visits by public servants that are funded wholly or partially by the government exchequer.
The decision was announced through an Office Memorandum issued by Under Secretary Finance Naresh Gaude.
The government also cancelled all approvals already granted for official foreign visits with immediate effect.
“Further, all approvals granted for official foreign visits shall stand cancelled with immediate effect,” the memorandum stated.
The restrictions have come into force immediately and will remain in effect until further orders.
