PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane have been called to Delhi by the BJP's high command for a meeting.
Sawant, who chaired the cabinet this morning, was seen rushing to the airport to attend the meeting called by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President J P Nadda.
CM confirmed his visit while only stating it was to attend a party meeting. Health Minister Rane also headed to Delhi for the same reason.
The purpose of the meeting however remains unclear with even Calangute MLA Michael Lobo oblivious about the sudden call from Delhi.
"Only CM Sawant and Rane will know the reason for the meeting in Delhi. We have no information about it," he said in reply to media questions after the cabinet meeting.
The visit has sparked speculation about important discussions within the party, though no official details have been released so far.
