PANAJI
The Bombay High Court at Goa on Monday denied bail to Prakash Bidre, accused of the murder of college lecturer Gauri Achari, 35, who was strangled to death. Bidre, who had filed a bail application before the High Court saw his application dismissed by the Court on Monday.
Bidre, a fitness trainer, is currently in judicial custody after he allegedly confessed to having strangulated Achari and dumped her body at a deserted place in Old Goa in what police believe is a case of unrequited love leading to murder.
Achari, was a lecturer at a government-run college at Khandola and was earlier in a brief relationship with Bidre but had since sought to cut ties with him. Police revealed that Bidre confessed to having killed Achari in a fit of rage because she spurned his advances to return to the relationship they once had.
Last month, the Sessions Court in Panaji had rejected Bidre's bail plea.
