MP says students' complaints before exam went unheeded
MARGAO
The opposition has slammed the BJP government behind the NEET paper leak, with South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes accusing the BJP government in Rajasthan for paying no heed to the complaints from students about the paper leak much before the examinations.
Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai said cancelation of NEET 2026 after allegations of a paper leak is a devastating blow to students across India ,and especially to thousands of Goan students and families who sacrificed everything for this exam.
Addressing the media, the South Goa MP demanded to know why the NEET examination was not called off when students in Rajasthan had complained of the paper leak before the scheduled exams. “This only goes to show the Rajasthan government did not initiate immediate action when the leaked papers were in public domain”, he said.
Congress Kushavati district president Rajesh Verenkar further condemned the statement of Bihar Education Minister calling upon girls not to pursue education. “It is surprising that the education Minister from a BJP ruled state has made such a statement when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had stressed on Beti Bachao, Beti Padau slogan”, he said.
Meanwhile, Goa Forward Chief Vjai Sardesai has said that the “One Nation, One Exam” has now become “One Nation, One Re-Exam” under BJP rule, paper leaks and exam scams are becoming the new normal. “For a small state like Goa, where every student’s opportunity matters, this failure hits even harder”, Sardesai added.
