PANAJI: The Panel for Progress and Unity, led by Chetan Dessai and Vinod (Balu) Phadke, has won a decisive victory in the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) elections 2025. Mahesh Dessai was elected President, with Paresh Govind Fadte as Vice President, Tulsidas Shetye as Secretary, Sayed Abdul Majid as Treasurer, Ananth Shambu Naik as Joint Secretary, and Mahesh Behki as Member.
“I thank all the clubs for their support. A cricket stadium is the need of the hour, and the foundation stone will be laid soon. The location will be decided collectively by all clubs,” said newly elected GCA President Mahesh Dessai.
The elections saw 46 nominations filed for six key posts, with two panels in the fray, one backed by Rohan Dessai and the other supported by Chetan Dessai, Suraj Lotlikar, and Vinod (Balu) Phadke. A 100% voter turnout was reported.
