The International Purple Fest, Goa – 2024 on Saturday announced free registration for delegates under the 'Individuals' and 'Organisations' categories.
Organized by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the State Directorate of Social Welfare and the Union Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the festival’s second edition will be held from January 8 to 13, 2024, in Panaji.
Goa State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Guruprasad Pawaskar informed that the organizing team of the Fest has curated Think Tank sessions centred on health, education, employment, accessibility, and disaster management.
“The aim is to increase awareness about the difficulties Persons with Disabilities encounter in these domains and suggest potential solutions. A variety of fun activities, including Cruise Rides, Bird Trails, Movie Screenings, Drum Circles, and Stargazing sessions, are planned for the participants… The objective is to foster a diverse dialogue on building an inclusive society where diversity is embraced,” he said as he called on people from across the globe to register for the fest and be part of this Purple Movement.
The Experience Zone, he added, will host diverse simulation activities for policymakers, bureaucrats, educational institutions, and the general audience, providing insights into navigating life with a disability. There will be various National and International-level sports championships as part of the fest.
The Fest comprises nine tracks - Purple Conventions, Purple Think Tank, Purple Experience Zone, Purple Exhibition, Purple Fun, Purple Rain, Purple Kaleidoscope, Purple Sports, and Purple Spectrum.
