Shirodkar felicitates meritorious SSC students
PANAJI
Minister for Water Resources, Subhash Shirodkar, on Thursday said that the choice of field made by students after their SSC exam is a “golden decision” that lays the foundation for their future.
He was speaking at a function in Panaji to felicitate meritorious students who excelled in the March 2025 SSC Board examinations. The event, organised by Marathi daily Tarun Bharat in collaboration with TJSB Bank, was held at the IMB Hall. A total of 194 students who scored 90% and above were honoured in the presence of Minister Shirodkar and other dignitaries.
Addressing the students, Shirodkar advised them to cultivate the habit of reading to enhance their knowledge and stressed the importance of living a value-based life. “Hard work and honesty are the key to success in education. No one can hold you back if you remain sincere in your efforts,” he said.
He also underlined the importance of sports and physical fitness and urged students not to look down on others, particularly those who may not have had the same educational opportunities.
Prof Anil Samant, President of the Goa Marathi Academy and keynote speaker, encouraged students to remain focused on their goals and work diligently. “There is no field in which you cannot rise to the top. Concentrate, work hard, and success will follow,” he said.
