Man living with victim arrested

An autopsy has confirmed that 55-year-old Laxmi Shirodkar was murdered in Bicholim, and a man who was living with her has been arrested in this connection.
Shirodkar, a resident of Matne-Dodamarg, Maharashtra, was found dead in a tempo parked near the old police station in Bicholim on December 26.
The police had initially suspected foul play and taken Ramesh Teli into custody for questioning.
The autopsy report confirmed that Shirodkar had died due to suffocation, and Teli was later arrested on charges of murder.
Police investigation revealed that Teli and Shirodkar had a history of disputes and physical altercations. On the day of the incident, they were involved in a fight and Teli had allegedly assaulted Shirodkar.
The accused is reported to have confessed to the crime. Bicholim police will produce Teli before a court on December 28 to seek police custody.
The case is being investigated by a Bicholim police team led by Police Inspector Vijay Rane, under the supervision of DySP Shridevi B V.
