Canacona Congress workers launched a protest and awareness campaign for Samvidhan Rakshan (constitution protection) and mission against 'Vote Chori' at the Polem Checkpost in Canacona constituency.
“Our Leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has exposed 'Vote Chori' in Bihar and has started a nationwide campaign for ‘Samvidhan Rakshan’. We strongly back our leader and strengthen the party's commitment for ‘Samvidhan Rakshan’,” said Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari, while leading the Congress party leaders including GPYC and Canacona Congress frontal organisations.
“Some unscrupulous elements owing allegiance to a particular political party are using loopholes in the Election Commission and are playing tricks to deny the constitutional rights of citizens, especially those voters not favourable to that particular political party.’
Added GPYC Vice President Vaishnav Pednekar, “We demand free and fair elections, completely free from voter frauds of any nature.”
Canacona Block Mahila President Ursila Costa, Canacona Block Youth Congress President Manesh Naik Gaunkar, NSY President Harsh Desai, and other leaders later went from house to house in Polem area to cross-check names in the voter list.
