The Directorate of Education has announced a holiday for all schools in and around Canacona on November 28, in view of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Goa.
According to an official circular issued by Director Education Shailesh Zingade, the decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, considering extensive security arrangements, traffic restrictions and other logistical requirements linked to VVIP movement in the area.
“All government, government-aided and unaided primary, secondary, higher secondary and special schools in the Canacona region will remain closed for students and staff on Friday,” Zingade said.
Schools have been advised not to schedule examinations, academic activities or events on the declared holiday.
