Will the Margao Municipal Council insert a bare minimum clause in the draft agreement mandating the NGO to open a dedicated 24x7 Helpline to facilitate citizens to call for help and assistance in tackling strays in their locality?
Complaints have been galore from both Margao Municipal Councilors and citizens alike that absence of a dedicated Helpline with a dedicated telephone number had left them to fend for themselves when under attack from strays on the prowl.
A councillor informed that in the event the Municipal Chief Officer goes ahead with the signing of an agreement with the NGO sans inviting Expression of interest, the officer should insist on a dedicated helpline for the benefit of the citizens in times of distress.
