Widowed mother runs bread-omelette kiosk to look after family

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured that Vinita Shirodkar, who was the fourth runner up in the recent Miss and Mister Deaf International Contest at Tanzania, would be offered a government job.
Sawant gave the assurance when he met Vinita and her mother, Vijata, at their home in Morjim. The chief minister was accompanied by local MLA Jit Arolkar.
The Morjim girl had won the Miss India Deaf title in 2023, after which she was selected to participate in the Miss and Mister Deaf International contest at Tanzania.
Vinita bagged the fourth place at the Miss India Deaf International title.
The girl has been on the lookout for employment as her widowed mother runs a bread-omelette kiosk to look after the family and educate her children.
Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar had also assured the family that he would be following up with the government regarding a job to Vinita, as she had brought pride to the State and India.
