MARGAO:
Margao fire brigade rushed to the Nuvem village panchayat building on Thursday evening after the electrical panel caught fire.
Firemen used a tender to bring the fire under control. Short circuit is believed to be the cause behind the fire. The loss of property is being ascertained.
Sarpanch Freda D’Sa said the fire must have occurred due to a suspected short circuit given that work was going on in the adjoining market shed. She thanked the local residents for responding quickly and for taking part in the fire-fighting operations.
