Scandal
The political drama which centers around a woman who is regularly called in to discreetly solve problems before they turn into huge controversies is inspired by real life crisis management specialist, Judy Smith who was also a press aide during the George W Bush administration. The show which first began in 2012 with Kerry Washington in the role of the protagonist Olivia Pope, has acquired wide scale popularity and is now in its sixth season. Smith is both the co-creator and executive producer of the drama-series.
Bones
The show which follows the mysteries of Temperance Brennan, a forensic scientist and archeologist is based on the books of author Kathy Reich who has penned down her own real-life experiences and cases as an archeologist and forensic scientist. Reich is the producer of the show which premiered in 2005.
Breaking Bad
The smash hit drama series which won plenty of Emmy Aaward and 2 Golden Globes premiered in 2008 and is based around Walter White, a chemistry teacher, whose side job as a crystal meth cook. The film has been inspired by real life Alabama-based Walter White, who was once on the state's Most Wanted list. It is also inspired by William Duncan, a Texas based Chemistry teacher and Stephen Doran, a Boston-based teacher diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, who were both arrested in 2011 for running meth laboratories.
Entourage
If you see actor Mark Wahlberg having a lot of cameos in this show, it is because the comedy-drama is inspired from actor Mark Wahlberg's life and experiences as a growing A-list Hollywood star and is essayed by Adrian Grenier. The show premiered in 2004 and the series ran for 8 seasons with Wahlberg as one of its executive producers. The show won 6 Emmys and one Golden Globe award.
Orange Is The New Black
This show which premiered in 2013 became a huge hit with the audience for it's hard take on prison life. The series which became one of the online streaming media's most watched TV show is based
on Piper Kerman's memoir 'Orange Is The New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison' following her years as a convict in a female federal prison for a crime (smuggling drugs) she had committed a long time ago. Through the book, she talks about her real life encounters in the women's prison and the poor prison system of the US is brought under the limelight.
The Goldbergs
This comedy-series created by Adam F. Goldberg a himself premiered in 2013 and is inspired from the real-life events of Goldberg's childhood and family. In fact, due to the nature of the show being too peculiar, towards the closing credits of the episodes; real-life home videos from the Goldberg family itself are exhibited to prove its authenticity.
Scrubs
There is a real J.D. The award winning medical drama show follows the real life experiences that Jonathan Doris narated to his friend Bill Lawrence during his time as a resident doctor. Bill then went on to create the show Scrubs.
