In a public meeting held in Mandrem, Ramakant Khalap, the North Goa candidate representing the INDIA bloc, emphasized the critical need to preserve Goa's land resources for future generations.

Khalap proposed a partnership between the government and private landowners to reserve land, highlighting the looming issue of dwindling land availability. He suggested the formation of a corporation to manage this partnership, with specific allocations for agriculture to sustain local livelihoods.

Drawing on his past experience as union law minister, Khalap underscored his commitment to job creation. He recalled organizing recruitment drives for various security forces, including the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and Railway Police Force, in Goa during his tenure. These efforts resulted in numerous job opportunities for Goans, addressing a pressing concern in the region.

Criticism was directed towards incumbent MP Shripad Naik for allegedly failing to generate adequate employment opportunities for locals.

Aldona MLA and North Goa Lok Sabha seat coordinator, Carlos Ferreira, lambasted the BJP government for what he deemed as misleading the public with empty promises.

He cited the rising prices of essential commodities, particularly gas cylinders, as evidence of the government's neglect of common people's welfare.

Ferreira accused the government of favouring its associates and family members, rather than prioritizing the needs of the populace.

Echoing these sentiments, State Congress president Amit Patkar called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address pressing issues such as escalating accidents and water supply shortages.

Patkar reminded the Prime Minister of his unfulfilled promises made during the 2014 elections, including curbing inflation, unemployment, and retrieving black money. He urged Modi to provide reassurances on these issues, emphasizing their significance to the electorate.
