PANAJI:
The Bombay High Court at Goa, based on directions from the Supreme Court, has taken suo moto cognizance of the Children’s Court order granting anticipatory bail to history sheeter Tarzan Parsekar, despite several cases pending against him and his bail being cancelled in a case by the High Court.
The Children’s Court granted bail to Parsekar based on his petition in Anticipatory Bail Application No. 2/2024 in connection with FIR No. 6/2024 before the Children’s Court even as the prosecution had filed a case of cancellation of regular bail granted to him was pending before the High Court.
“The investigating agency filed a reply in the said proceedings and intimated to the learned Children’s Court that the Application for cancellation of bail is pending before this Court (High Court) as Respondent No. 1 (Parsekar) violated the conditions imposed on him while granting the earlier Bail Application No. 502 of 2023 (F). Though these facts are found noted in paragraphs 5, 6 and 7 of the Anticipatory Bail Application No. 2/2024, the learned Children’s Court granted bail to Respondent No. 1 on 24.01.2024,” the High Court noted.
The Bombay High Court at Goa had cancelled the bail granted to history sheeter Tarzan Parsekar on grounds of having violated the conditions of the bail and entered the North Goa District and assaulted a man and his minor son. Parsekar is still absconding.
