A 73-year-old man ended his life in his room in Velsao-Pale on New Year’s Day.
According to reports, Verna police received a call at about 7 pm stating that a body was found in a room at Velsao.
A police team visited the site and found Freddy Dias dead in his room and in a decomposed condition.
Police enquiries revealed that the deceased had been living alone for the last 30 years and had no family members.
Verna police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for an autopsy at the South Goa District Hospital in Margao. Verna PSI Mahesh Bhomkar is investigating the case.
