Probe launched after complaint by planning department officer

Unauthorised land filling activity carried out on a property at Issorcim village in Mormugao taluka has come under the scanner of the Town and Country Planning authorities, leading to police action against the developer involved.
According to police sources, the illegal activity was detected at a property where land filling was allegedly carried out without obtaining mandatory approvals or permissions from the Chief Town and Country Planner. The activity was reportedly noticed on November 7, 2025, at Issorcimvillage.
Based on the complaint filed by Krishna Naik, Grade II, attached to the Office of the Mormugao Planning Department, Vasco, Verna police initiated legal action. The complainant stated that the accused proprietor of the private limited company had undertaken land filling in violation of the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act, bypassing statutory clearances.
Acting on the complaint, Verna police have registered a case under Section 17-A of the TCP Act against the accused person associated with the company.
The investigation is being carried out by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar of Verna police station, under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
