Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday evening handed over 100 taxis under the Mukhyamantri Goencho Taxi Patrao scheme on the occasion of Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho’s birthday celebrations at Dabolim.
Addressing a large gathering, Sawant said that this was one of the most unique schemes and first of its kind initiative across the country by Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, where taxis were being offered without any investment.
“This Mukhyamantri Goencho Taxi Patrao scheme offers a source of livelihood to the people of Goa and we will be offering 100 taxis today under this scheme. We have already offered 59 taxis in Miramar earlier and GoaMiles will be offering a total of 1,000 taxis to people in the entire State through this scheme in this year.”
“The best part is that the taxi is offered to people without any margin money and will give a livelihood opportunity to people who did not even have a cycle outside their houses and were not eligible for loans from banks. No state in the country has such zero-investment scheme without any margin money or any down payments,” he added.
