MARGAO: The Revolutionary Goans on Friday launched its movement in Fatorda to bring about a revolution in the constituency by ensuring the defeat of Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai in the coming election.

Revolutionary Goans Chief Manoj Parab vowed that RG will never tie up with Sardesai and his party, charging the MLA for destroying Goan identity and the very existence of Goa.

He also blamed both Sardesai and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat for being responsible for the present state of affairs in Goa for their direct and indirect support to the BJP government.

Addressing volunteers of Revolutionary Goans from Margao and Fatorda at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on Friday, Parab directed his tirade against Sardesai, saying the MLA speaks about Goemkar, but has still not come out with the definition of Goemkar. “He assured many things when he was in power, but failed to fulfill his promises. It was Sardesai who operationalized the Regional Plan which was lying dormant. It was Sardesai who brought the 16-B to sell Goa. He promised many things to the youth, but did not keep any land for the people of Goa”, he charged.

He urged the RG activists to take the POGO Bill to the doorsteps of the people and explain them how the Bill seeks to protect Goan identity. “Goans are shutting down business because they cannot compete with the migrants, who are into illegal activities. There’s no government control, no policy to provide jobs to the unemployed Goan youth”, he said.

Parab said the RG will soon unveil the Vision Document for Goa and has called upon the activists and the people at large to participate in the deliberations to put policies on health care, employment, PWD, power etc.

He also gave a call to the activists to brace up for the campaign to delete the names of migrant voters from the electoral list. “As per our data, there are around 10,000 migrant voters registered in Margao and another 6000 in Fatorda. We have to get these voters cancelled from the electoral roll. We need participation of the voters in every constituency to ensure that the names of migrants are struck down from the rolls”, he added.
