Roseferns heads International Tiatr Convention

Antonio Rosario Fernandes, popularly known as Roseferns, the king of centuries has been elected the Working President of the Second International Tiatr Convention, commemorating the 150th Birth Centenary of Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes, at Pai Tiatrist Hall of the Ravindra Bhavan Margao.

Konkani Film and Tiatr Superstar Prince Jacob was elected as the Reception Committee Chairman for the same.

Other members of the Organising Committee are Michael Gracias, Secretary, Vincy Quadros, Asst Secretary and Menino de Bandar, Mathias Mascarenhas, Fr Doel Dias, Dr Cosma Fernandes and Joaquim Faleiro as Executive Committee members.

With Konkani tiatr aiming to gain the status of Industry, a peek in the tiatr of the past and more importantly a study on the founding father of tiatr gains credibility and the Second International Tiatr Convention, commemorating the 150th Birth Centenary of Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes is seen as a welcome step in this direction.

The first International Tiatr Convention was held on October 6, 2019 at the Ravindra Bhavan which was well attended by 300 tiatrists and students of tiatr from various colleges of Goa besides delegates from the Gulf and other countries.

This Second International Tiatr Convention focusing on the life and works of Pai tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes will be a great leap in understanding the basics and essence of of Tiatr.

During the day long programme earmarked for the Sommelan, the Convention will include paper presentations on the life and works of Pai Tiatrist by eminent Scholars Dr Shamin Pereira, Dr Cosma Fernandes and Prof Willy Goes which will be followed by empaneled discussions by eminent tiatrists, Konkani teachers from various colleges of Goa, journalists and research enthusiasts. Release of Tiatrs in book form, felicitation of distinguished personalities and presentation of Konkani songs and music is also earmarked for the occasion, stated general secretary Michael Gracias.
