Eyes localising reforms proposed by NEP 2020

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has organised a two-day national seminar on ‘New State Curriculum Frameworks (SCFs) as the basis for Transforming School Education’ on December 5 and 6 at Raj Bhavan in Dona Paula.
This was stated by Director of Education Shailesh Zingade while addressing a news conference at Porvorim in the presence of SCERT Director Meghna Shetgaonkar, SCERT Administration Director Sarita Gadgil, Training Cell Coordinator Govindraj Dessai and Headmaster of Ganesh Vidhyamandir Rupesh Sawant.
“The seminar aims to bring together experts, educators, and policy makers to deliberate on the pivotal role of State Curriculum Frameworks (SCFs) in localising and implementing the reforms proposed in the National Education policy (NEP) 2020,” said Zingade.
“The event will provide a platform for sharing strategies, insights and best practices to transform education in Goa and across the country.”
SCERT Director Meghna Shetgaonkar said the national seminar will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at 10 am on December 5, while the valedictory function will be held on December 6 at 4.30 pm and WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar will grace the ceremony.
The national seminar will focus on the NCF-SE and competency-based training; role of teachers in implementing NEP2020; Reimagining Skill Education in Goa; Education Past Present and Future, Planning the way forward; Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN); Building strong Learning Foundations, Assessment Reforms; A shift from summative to Formative Evaluation and Use and Integration of Technology and Digital education for school and teacher education.
Shetgaonkar informed that those expected to attend the seminar include Additional Secretary of Education Anand Rao Patil, NETF Chairman Prof Anil Sahastrabudhe, Director of NCERT Prof Dinesh Saklani, and Vice chancellor of NIEPA Prof Shashikala Wanjari.
