Authorities have issued a traffic advisory and traffic arrangement in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting at the open space opposite BITS Pilani Institute at Zuarinagar, Sancoale on Saturday.
TRAFFIC DIVERSION
The MES College Junction to Queenynagar Junction (both lanes) on NH566 will be closed for all types of vehicular traffic from 1 pm to 10 pm on Saturday except for public attending the meeting.
All the traffic coming to Dabolim Airport/Vasco/Mormugao will be diverted on Major District Road of Queenynagar Circle-Birla-MES College Junction from Queenynagar Junction (NH566) Saturday.
All the vehicular traffic proceeding towards Verna-Margao from Vasco will be diverted on Major District Road of Zorint-Birla-Queenynagar Circle from MES College Junction (NH566).
No movement of heavy vehicles will be allowed from 9 am onwards from Dabolim Airport Junction towards Birla Cross Jn on NH566 and from Birla Cross Junction towards Queenynagar Circle-MES College Jn-Dabolim Airport Junction and also on Birla-Zuarinagar MDR. All heavy vehicles coming to Vasco will be diverted on Cortalim Circle-Chicalim Circle from Birla Cross Junction.
No movement of vehicles will be allowed from MES College Jn to Queenynagar Junction on NH566. All heavy vehicles will be diverted on Chicalim Circle-Cortalim Circle-Birla Cross Jn from Dabolim Airport Junction.
Public are requested to cooperate with traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
TRAFFIC FLOW AFFECTED
Traffic flow will be affected on following roads during VVIP visit:
1. From Dabolim Airport to MES College Junction on NH 566
2. From Queenynagar Junction to Birla Cross Junction on NH 566.
3. From MES College Junction to Queenynagar Circle via Birla Market on MDR
4. From Birla Cross Junction-IDC Verna Junction-Verna Bypass-Western Bypass Junction on NH66.
ALTERNATE ROUTES TO DABOLIM AIRPORT
North (Panaji side):
1. Agassaim-Old Zuari Bridge-Cortalim Circle (Turn Right)-St Jascinto Island-Chicalim Circle (Turn Left)-Dabolim Airport Junction (Turn Left)-Grade Separator (Entry)-Dabolim Airport.
2. Agassaim-New Zuari Bridge-Down Ramp Cortalim-Cortalim Circle (Turn Right)-St Jacinto Island-Chicalim Circle (Turn Left)-Dabolim Airport Junction (Turn Left)-Grade Separator (Entry)-Dabolim Airport.
South (Margao/Ponda side):
1. Birla Cross Junction NH 66-Queenynagar Junction (turn Left)-Queenynagar Circle (Turn Right)-Birla Market-MES College Junction (Turn Left)-Dabolim Airport.

2. Dabolim Airport-Vishal Mega Mart Jn (Turn Left)-Chicalim Junction Signal Point (NH 366) (Turn Right)-St Jacinto Island-Cortalim Circle (Turn Left)-Cortalim Up Ramp New Zuari Bridge-Panaji.
