Villagers from Usgao have strongly condemned the protest held outside the residence of Vishwajit Rane in Panaji, organised to demand the repeal of Section 39(A) of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department.

Current Sarpanch Sanjay Gaonkar, former Sarpanch Ramnath Dangi, former Sarpanch Tulshidas Prabhu, Zilla Panchayat member Samiksha Naik, and former Panch Dinesh Tari criticised the march, saying protests at a personal residence are inappropriate and may create social tension or law-and-order issues. They stressed that sensitive matters should be resolved through dialogue, discussion, and legal channels, urging all concerned to exercise restraint and follow democratic processes. Residents also noted that official platforms exist to address such issues, and concerns should be formally presented there.

Speaking in support of Rane, leaders praised his focus on regional development, including improvements in roads, water supply, healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and rural development. They highlighted his transparency, direct citizen engagement, and prompt response to grievances, calling for collective support to strengthen his development agenda and accelerate progress in the constituency.
