Calling upon the people of Goa not to vote for the Congress accusing the Opposition party for trying to raze down their houses, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has on Friday appealed to the people to vote and elect the BJP Zilla Panchayat candidates, promising to regularise their houses under the Mhaje Ghar scheme before the 2027 Assembly election.

Returning to Salcete again, this time to drum up support for the party candidates in Davorlim and Navelim, the Chief Minister demanded to know why the people voted for the Congress when the party is out to demolish their houses. “You have voted for the Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. We can see the booths where the Congress has got the vote. How come you are voting for the very party which is trying to demolish your houses,” he demanded to know, while addressing an impressive meeting held at Davorlim in support of party Davorlim candidate, Satyavijay Naik and Navelim candidate Laxmi Shetkar.

Aware that both the Davorlim and Navelim ZP seats play host to a large section of Christian and Muslim voters, the Chief Minister made an impassioned plea to the people to vote for Lotus, Mhaje Ghar and the development of the State and country.

Demanding to know from the minorities whether the BJP government has at any time discriminated against them in the State, Sawant said he also expects the minorities not to discriminate against the BJP during elections. “The BJP does not discriminate against the people on the basis of caste and religion. What wrong has my government done to the Muslims and Christians during my stint in office? All the government schemes are enjoyed by all communities irrespective of their caste and creed,” he said.
