‘The Reprised 2.0’ highlights musical talent at Sanquelim

Destiny Music Academy, Sanquelim, hosted the grand musical festival “The Reprised 2.0” at Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim recently. The soulful performances offered music lovers a delightful and memorable musical experience.

Padminee Foundation Chairperson Sulakshana Sawant attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Many institutions in the Amona– Sanquelim region are providing education according to children’s interests; however, Destiny Academy is doing remarkable work by offering quality musical education and guiding children towards a bright future.” She praised Academy Director Petrisan Andrade for inspiring young learners and noted that motivating children through art and culture is a true social service.

Sanquelim Municipal Chairperson Siddhi Parab, renowned artist Shivanand Khedekar, mentor Prof Sameer Prabhu and Fr Winston Barbosa Parish priest from Valpoi were also present as distinguished guests.

Destiny Academy trains students in various Indian and Western musical instruments. To provide these students with practical stage exposure, this programme was organised, witnessing participation from over a hundred learners.

Accomplished artistes including sitarist Laxmikant Khandekar, tabla maestro Raj Madgaonkar, flutist Prathamesh Parab, saxophonist Roy Menezes, trombone artist Semy Braganza, trumpeter Senon D’Souza, Keyboardist Satish Gaonkar, Vedant Gaude, Guitarist Ziyad baig, Oswil Mascarehnas, Abhishek Rane, Bassist Ramchandra sawant, Drummer Deepti Ghodge, Percussionist Ahkil Gopalkrishnan, and vocalists Vibha Algundgi, Avi Parwar, Meenoshka Dias, Mahadev Gaonkar, Gauresh Malik, Divya Gaonkar, backing vocals Sherlieyn Rodrigues, Susmita Bhagat, Suvarsha Bhagat, Madhavi Mhalshekar and Varad Dessai enthralled the audience with captivating performances.

Songs in Hindi, Marathi, Konkani and English along with Indo-Western fusion pieces, blend of Indian and Western instruments, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Two performers were felicitated by Municipal Chairperson Siddhi Parab and two by artist Shivanand Khedekar in recognition of their contributions.

Dance performances by students of Aada Dance Academy, Sanquelim added vibrancy to the programme. Enthusiastic audience members spontaneously joined in, moving to the rhythm of select songs. Even Sulakshana Sawant joined in the applause, appreciating the artists' efforts.

The event concluded with a powerful rendition of the song “Chak De India,” sparking roaring applause and high spirits throughout the auditorium.

The programme was compered by Sammy Coelho in an entertaining and humorous style, while Ramchandra Sawant efficiently managed the event.
