A house and a scooter were gutted in a fire at Bhuipal-Sattari on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, a fire suddenly broke out at the house of Bharat Vernekar near the government primary school in Bhuipal at about 2.30 pm.
The family tried to extinguish the fire and when their efforts failed, they notified the Valpoi fire station.
A fire brigade went to the site and battled for about 90 minutes before extinguishing the fire.
However, household appliances, property and a scooter parked near the house were destroyed in the fire, causing a loss of about Rs 3 lakh.
