PORVORIM: Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Ferreira has urged parents not to compare their children with others, saying it harms their confidence and mental health. Speaking at the ‘Mission Shiksha’ scholarship event organised by Porvorim Welfare Foundation with WOW Foundation, Ferreira said every child is unique and parents should focus on their strengths. He also urged teachers to teach with dedication.
Bhandari Samaj leader Sanjeev Naik told students to have big ambitions and work sincerely towards them. Foundation president Vikas Prabhu Dessai said 150 underprivileged students received scholarships this year, and 200 will get them next year. Ferreira and dignitaries lit the lamp before the distribution. Pushpa Redkar proposed the vote of thanks.
