Panaji: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on first day of monsoon Assembly Session stated that BJP Government have promises of sugar and honey on the lips, but hidden agenda is to attack the Samvidhan, suppress opposition voices and undermine the democratic process.
"Goa is grappling with several issues, including the collapse of law and order, land conversion, women's safety concerns, unemployment, and the increasing number of rape cases involving minors. Yet, this government seems to be 'Susegad'. The BJP government is taking the people for granted, but we will not allow it to suppress opposition voices and undermine the democratic process," Congress leader Alemao said.
He said that the BJP is attempting to undermine the very existence of the state, posing a significant threat to Goa's future.
“Lies are on the tongue of BJP and eyes on Goa's land, ‘Samvidhan hatya’ in the heart, promises of sugar and honey on the lips sums up our Chief Minister,” Yuri Alemao said.
“What we have is a FAT Chief Minister, WEAK Government and Derailed Governance. There are many cooks in the ruling party, hence we see confusion in the kitchen of the Sarkar. The Chief Chef has over 60% portfolios, and delivery has gone for a toss. As a result, the people of the state are suffering.,” Alemao said.
Alemao expressed concern about the curtailed assembly sessions, which limit the Opposition's time to raise people's voices.
"However, we will try our best to hold the government accountable for its failures, and we expect the Speaker to guard the majesty of the Vidhan Sabha and demonstrate it in the conduct of assembly proceedings," he said.
