Days after he announced the “success” of the surgery he underwent in Portugal on his social media page, Goan pop music icon Remo Fernandes on Sunday said he has been discharged from hospital and is convalescing at his sister’s home.
“Discharged from hospital and back to Belinda’s house, where she’s beautifully looking after me as I convalesce and gradually get back to normal and hopefully better,” Fernandes wrote on his Facebook page.
“Am I looking like a real hardcore old Punk, stapled scalp and all, or am I?,” he further wrote posting pictures of himself which show his sutured surgery
wound.
Fernandes had stirred an emotion of concern among his fans after he cancelled a concert in London which was meant for the Goan diaspora there because of a medical condition following a fall in his hotel room in Spain where he was attending a literary fest.
The condition worsened days after he returned to Porto in Portugal leading to severe headaches and balance issues and was diagnosed with internal hemorrhage needing an urgent surgery.
He then underwent a Burr hole surgery -- a minimally invasive neurosurgical procedure -- to help relieve pressure on his brain caused by the bleeding.
Three days ago, Fernandes had posted that his “operation was declared successful” and quoted his surgeon saying “all is perfect and fine”.
