Comunidade of Loliem-Polem puts off survey to spot illegal houses

The Comunidade of Loliem-Polem has postponed its survey planned for Sunday, July 20, 2025, to identify and confirm any remaining illegal houses and encroachments on Comunidade land in the village.

“The survey has been put off due to heavy rains in the taluka. We will announce new dates for the survey and checks on illegal structures on our land after we confirm with the Administrator of Comunidades (South),” said Vishwajeet Warik, President of the Loliem-Polem Comunidade.

Warik stated that following High Court directions on illegal structures on Comunidade land, the Loliem-Polem Comunidade has so far identified 79 illegal houses and encroachments in survey numbers 358/1, 355, 351 and 350 in the Dapot and Madditolop areas. The list has been sent to the Administrator of Comunidades, South Zone.
