PANAJI: The Agassaim police have apprehended a 40-year-old driver for allegedly committing an obscene act in public that outraged the modesty of eight female students waiting at a bus stop in Bambolim. According to the FIR, the accused, identified as Altaf Husen from Salcete, reportedly rode up to the students on his two-wheeler and made obscene gestures before fleeing the scene on Tuesday morning. SP North Rahul Gupta said that based on CCTV footage, the police team traced the vehicle registration and located the accused within 12 hours of the incident. “He confessed to the offence,” the officer said.
