Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday assured to take firm action and sack any person involved in the alleged ‘sex scandal’ and urged the victim in the case to file a complaint.

Sawant also said that during elections a lot of allegations will be made against the opponents, which need to be verified.

“If someone has been wronged then that person should file a complaint then I will 100 per cent take action. Being a home minister, I am firm on it and I will sack anyone,” Sawant said.

Last week, State Congress President Girish Chodankar claimed that he had accessed a video clip where a minister from BJP government was seen abusing his status to sexually exploit a young woman.

He, however, declined to name the minister concerned but insisted that the chief minister was aware of the case.

Sawant said the State provides rights for its women and if anyone has been victimised then they should come forward and lodge a complaint and let it be proved.

“Even if the woman gives a complaint, then there will be a thorough inquiry carried out. So far no one has filed a complaint,” he said.

The CM further said that politically affiliated people will make wild allegations to gain publicity.

“When elections approach thousands of such allegations will come up. If anyone has any grievances let them file a complaint. I promise to take immediate action,” he said.
