According to Verna police, the complaint was lodged by the mother of the minor girl, a native of Karnataka currently residing at Sancoale.

In her complaint, the mother stated that on February 3 prior to 6 pm, her minor daughter left the house without informing any family members. Despite efforts to trace her, the girl has not returned home till February 17.
