PANAJI: In a major stride towards digital transformation, the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) has officially gone live with its upgraded enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, SAP S/4 HANA Private Cloud Edition. The transition marks MPA’s successful migration from the earlier SAP ECC 6.0 SOH to the modernised Rise with SAP S/4 HANA platform.
The implementation was executed by M/s Highbar Technocrat Pvt. Ltd. and marks a milestone in the port’s digital journey. MPA had previously created history in December 2009 by becoming the first major port in India to implement SAP ERP ECC 6.0.
A formal “Go Live” event was held on Sunday under the leadership of MPA Chairperson N. Vinod Kumar, with Deputy Chairperson Vinayaka Rao, department heads, senior officials, the in-house IT team, and representatives from Highbar Technocrat in attendance. Anant Chodnekar, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer of Deendayal Port, who also holds additional charge at MPA, officially declared the system live.
Speaking at the occasion, Vinod Kumar congratulated the IT department, ERP users, and the implementation partner for ensuring a smooth and timely upgrade. He urged all users to harness the system’s full potential to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
Deputy Chairperson Vinayaka Rao and Yogesh Mhadolkar, Project Leader from Highbar Technocrat, addressed the gathering, outlining the scope and benefits of the new system.
Navisha Miranda, Assistant Director (IT), and IT Consultant Prasad Nayak also shared key highlights from MPA’s digital transformation journey, emphasising the strategic planning and collaborative efforts involved in the project.
With this implementation, MPA sets a benchmark among Indian ports for adopting enterprise-grade digital solutions, aiming to boost operational excellence and enhance service delivery.
