Unwanted projects, protests keep people distracted

The people of Goa, especially in villages, are often forced to protest against government projects that disrupt peace and harm our environment. Unwanted projects and protests are famous in Goa as Goa government is harassing people of Goa all the time and there are  protests in Goa everywhere. If the MLAs and ministers we have elected do not serve the public interest but instead sell our lands, water bodies, mountains, rivers and our lifelines for personal gain, why do we need them? India is rich, but corrupt politicians have taken citizens for granted, enriching themselves while the common people grow poorer. Politicians keep the public distracted with protests, statues, and religious divisions—a strategy reminiscent of the British "divide and rule" policy.
