A promotional event titled Tales of Kamasutra and Christmas Celebration in Goa faced backlash for its inappropriate theme, leading to police action. The controversial ‘Tales of Kamasutra and Christmas Celebration' was scheduled from Dec 25 to 28 which was to be organised by the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh Foundation have been cancelled due to outcry by the public. This event would damage Goa’s reputation as a family-friendly destination and promote sex tourism. The mix of Christmas and Kamasutra in one promotional line is intented to re-make Goa a sex destination. It's unfortunate that in the name of Osho, Christmas, meditation, Goa is being advertised as a sex destination. Tourism is good. But in the name of a bhagwan, sex tourism is certainly not part of Goa's culture. The government of Goa should not permit such type of vulgar events which would disturb cultural harmony or promote indecent content. Moreover Goa does not need a temple corridor, but it needs governance, accountability, jobs, safety and protection of its real heritage.
