The BJP government is always boasting about double engine development but with every monsoons the reality actually comes to light. All areas being most “developed” are getting worse on flooding and with it the increase in negative consequences to the common man in Goa. Now just with pre-monsoon showers most of urban areas and even many villagers are severely effected. Are Goans going to wake up until the whole of Goa goes “under water”? The excessive/unsustainable development worsened by high corruption, real estate greed destroying ecological areas and the government, municipal, panchayat machinery turning a blind eye to massive illegalities is in summary the reason for all this flooding. Just take a tour my village of Colva and see so many illegalities in process in fields, low lying areas and on the beach areas.
