This is with reference to the report, "Dalit delivery man abused, beaten......... - The Goan Everyday June 21, 2022." This may be a small, isolated issue however, it should make us sit up and think. It should wake up the authorities not just in UP where this incident has happened, but all over the country. Dalits and other backward classes begin ill-treated is not new in our country, it has been happening for ages. However, even in this time and age, it is disgusting to see such inhuman treatment being meted out to the underprivileged class of society. What was the fault of this delivery boy, why was he abused and beaten? Was it only because he was a dalit? The authorities in UP and indeed all of us should hang our heads in shame. Is humanity dead in our country?
