I do not know if Operation Sindoor is a game changer. Pakistan has received a befitting and firm reply from our armed forces with a new war doctrine implemented successfully-- deploying aur power from safe distance and leveraging advance defence systems to neutralise enemy missiles and drones. India has sent a strong unequivocal message to the world that it has zero tolerance to terrorism. The coordinated operation of our armed forces needs praise for precisely targeting terrorists camps. It is also equally important to recognise the role of certain local individuals who, in collusion with terrorists, acted out vengeance. If stringent action is taken against such anti- national elements, terrorism and militancy will wither away quickly. The chief reason for unrest among Kashmir population today is lack of employment opportunities especially among youth. A potential solution lies in setting up labour-intensive industries, such as garment manufacturing units. Kashmiri women can be trained in dress making, providing them with gainful employment. Such units also create jobs for men. During my interaction with Kashmiri youth, while travelling I could sense a frustration and the reason is despite having access to good educational institutions, job opportunities remains scarce.
