Will Mhadei set the course for LS polls in South Goa?

Is Mhadei river emerging as an agenda for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls for South Goa? It seems so if the assembly of cross section of society at the Goemkar Ghor, Goa Forward party headquarters, is any indication. The latest push to save Mhadei, this time coming for Saxtti has come as a surprise.

Observers, however, say Mhadei has all the portents to unite the opposition to checkmate the saffron brigade in South Goa’s hinterland. Wait and watch as a coordination committee is expected to be put in place to take the Mhadei movement forward after the Feast of St Francis Xavier.

Realignment of political forces in Saxttidom?

Realignment of political forces seemed on the cards in Saxttidom. It’s an open secret AAP Benaulim MLA Venzybab Viegas shares a perfect rapport with Cong-turned-BJP Margao MLA Diggu and not to mention CM Pramodbab Sawant. The bonhomie amongst the trio, however, seemed to have not gone down well with the Pramod-Diggu duo’s common enemy, Goa Forward Chief Vijaibab Sardesai.

This became evident when Vijaibab shot down Venzybab’s proposal to rope a Delhi consultant to tackle Sal pollution. The seafarers pension scheme issue has now come in handy for Vijaibab to fire shots at the AAP MLA. Any takers?

Politics and pilgrimage: Interesting development in Nuvem

What’s next up the sleeves of Congress-turned-BJP MLA Alexiobab Sequeira as constituents from Nuvem have returned home after a pilgrimage to Vailankani. Of the 1000 pilgrims that travelled to Vailankani by a government-sponsored charter train, overwhelmingly majority of the pilgrims hailed from Nuvem constituency.

Sources said Alexiobab had gone out of the way to see his constituents take maximum advantage of the pilgrimage. Wait and watch as the Vailankani pilgrimage has been Alexiobab’s first major outreach programme after embracing the saffron brigade.

Where is Luizinhbab Faleiro?

Where’s TMC Rajya Sabha MP Luizinhbab Faleiro? Well, nothing much has been heard from the MP, throwing up questions whether the former CM is preoccupied with preparing for the ensuing Parliament session.

Though elected to Rajya Sabha from Bengal, Luizinhbab has used the platform to raise a host of issues plaguing his home state Goa. Sources, however, Luizinhbab seemed working to realize his dream of having a museum in memory of great Goan nationalist Francis Luis Gomes in his home village Navelim. Wait and watch.

Who is visiting Sonsodo and who isn’t?

This may make reading interesting. Congress-turned-BJP MLA Diggu has twice visited Sonsodo with son Yogirajbab in tow in the last fortnight take stock of the garbage imbroglio. The question that is now doing the rounds in local political circles is simple – why were the two MLAs Vijaibab Sardesai and Reginaldbab Lourenco conspicuous by their absence.

Were these two MLAs, who also have stakes at Sonsodo not invited for the review meeting? Or, did the duo stayed away from Sonsodo during Diggu’s visits for reasons best known to them. Many an eyebrow is indeed raised over the developments at Sonsodo.
