Two first-half strikes from Wimson Perrira and Joshua helped BDG A overcome a determined PAK side 2‑0 to lift the Festival 7-a-side Football Tournament, organized by the Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim for the 51st consecutive year as part of the Christmas Week celebrations.
The Chief Guest, Dixon Vaz, Chairman of the Club and Sarpanch of V.P. Cavelossim, presented the winners’ prize of Rs 3,000 to BDG A captain Carmo Gomes, donated by former Club President Elvino Afonso. Runner-up PAK, led by Anurag Das, received Rs 2,000.
A total of seven teams competed in the tournament, including Rodrigues Boys, Bandoi Boys, T P Boys, and Batti Boys, showcasing spirited performances throughout the event.
