Bhatikar Model High School beat King’s HS of Sao Jose de Areal in the final.

Bhatikar Model High School beat King’s HS of Sao Jose de Areal by 10 wickets to emerge champions of the 20th Mukund Trikannad U-16 inter-school cricket tournament organised by Margao Cricket Club at Dr Rajendra Prasad Stadium, Margao.
After electing to bat first, the King’s School scored 215 in 39.3 overs. Venkat Chigurupati scored 50 while Aaradhya Goel contributed 36 runs. For Bhatikar Model HS, Shantanu Nevgi was the most successful bowler with 4-46 while Om Naik took one wicket.
In reply, an unbeaten opening stand of 216 runs in 34.2 overs between Yash Kasvankar (107*, 115b, 9x4, 2x6) and Shantanu Nevgi (81*, 88b, 4x5, 2x6) was enough for Bhatikar Model HS to register a comfortable win and lift the Trikannad trophy.
Shantanu Nevgi was declared the Man of the finals and the best bowler while Nisarg Nagvekar of Damodar Vidyalaya English HS was adjudged the best batsman of the tournament. MLA of Margao, Digambar Kamat was the chief guest and handed over the trophies in the presence of former India cricketer Pravin Amre, sponsor of the tournament Dinesh Trikannad and GCA secretary Rohan Gauns Desai.
Ranji cricketer Mohit Redkar was felicitated by Kamat for his brilliant all-round performance in this Ranji season. Secretary of Margao Cricket Club, Aditya Angle compered the function and later proposed a vote of thanks.
