The 5th edition of the Football Nationals, hosted by Mummy’s Goa Helping Hands Football Coaching Center under the Come and Play Goa initiative, concluded recently with a thrilling all-Goa final. The tournament, which kicked off on May 1, featured teams from Delhi, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, and two teams representing CAP Goa – Yellow and Blue.
Both Goa teams put on impressive performances to reach the finals. CAP Goa Yellow edged past Delhi in a dramatic penalty shootout after a goalless draw, with goalkeeper Vishwajit making a crucial save and Raj netting the decisive penalty in sudden death. CAP Goa Blue secured their spot in the final with a narrow 1–0 win over Karnataka, thanks to a well-taken goal by Zyan.
The grand finale took place in the presence of MLA Rodolfo Fernandes and other dignitaries, capping off an exciting and competitive tournament that celebrated youth talent and sporting spirit.
