Dicarpale Boys edged past Margao Boys 3-2 in a thrilling finale to win the Silver Jubilee Soccer Cup Football Tournament, organised by Our Lady of Fatima Church at the Dicarpale Ground on Sunday.
Mark Carvalho starred with a brace, scoring the opener in the 6th minute and sealing the win with the decisive goal in the 45th minute. Preston had doubled Dicarpale’s lead early, but Margao fought back through Joywin (35') and Benjoe (40') to level the scores before Carvalho’s late strike.
Dicarpale Boys bagged Rs 30,000 and the winner's trophy, while Margao Boys received Rs 20,000.
Chief guest Cruz Silva, the Velim MLA, presented the prizes in the presence of dignitaries including Fr George Ratos, Fr Joaquim Fernandes, Simon Carvalho, Siddhesh Bhagat, and Manoj Dukle.
