Eleven teams set for DSYA U-15 Nehru Hockey tournament starting Sept 5

A total of 11 schools will take part in the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) Nehru U-15 Hockey tournament for boys which was to take place from August 18 at Peddem ground Mapusa but now will start from September 5 at the same venue.

Fr. Agnel HS Pilar, The Rosary HS Cujira, St Britto HS Mapusa, Don Bosco HS Panaji, Honda HS Honda, Janata HS Mapusa, Damodar Eng HS Gudi, Holy Cross HS Bastora, Perpetual Succour Convent HS Navelim, and St Anthony HS Guirim will be the teams taking part in the tournament.

St. Ann's HS Thivim have since withdrawn from the tournament.

The tournament will be played out on a knockout basis with the final and the third-place match taking pace on September 10.

Rosary HS Cujira and St Britto HS Mapusa clash in the first match of Day One while in the second match Don Bosco HS Panaji will take on Honda HS Honda on September 5.

Janata HS Mapusa and Fr. Agnel HS Pilar have a first-round bye.

In the lower half of the draw, Damodar Eng HS Gudi meet Holy Cross HS Bastora on September 6, while Perpetual Succour Convent HS Navelim will get a passage to the next round as St. Ann's HS Thivim, have since withdrawn.

St Anthony HS Guirim have got a bye in the tournament.

The semi-finals will take place on September 8 followed by the final on August 21.

The winner of the tournament will get a chance to represent Goa at the All-India championship in Delhi.
