MARGAO: FC Goa defeated South Goa United of Sports and Culture 2–0 in a closely contested GFA Under-18 First Division League encounter played at the Don Bosco Oratory Ground on Monday.
The first half saw both teams evenly matched, with strong attacking intent and solid defensive organisation on display. While both sides created chances, FC Goa looked the more threatening going forward but were unable to break the deadlock before halftime.
FC Goa stepped up the pressure after the break and looked dangerous from the outset. Their persistence paid off when Leonard Rebello opened the scoring in the 65th minute, giving FC Goa a deserved lead.
South Goa United attempted to fight back, but FC Goa maintained control of the game. The win was sealed in the 85th minute when Asher Rebello calmly converted a spot kick.
